A Poem for an Old Girlfriend

She thinks
Then she sleeps
she dreams
She is quiet
She doesnt have to sweat
Blood and tears
She strokes my hand
I lay my head on her tender
Gentle breast
She rubs my back
She calms the beast
Calms my waters
As she sleeps
And as she sleeps
She dreams
I dream
I dream of her
of stealing kisses
of one single
night long
kiss
She sleeps
She dreams
She dreams of playing with dolphins and tiger fish in blue water
I’m still dreaming of that kiss
We’re still surrounded by blue water
Swirling up about us
around us
and she sleeps
and I dream
She is quiet
She is still
She touches my hand
and I take her soft hand into my own
and I sleep
and I dream
and we kiss
and we hold hands
Underneath the covers
and she thinks
and she sleeps
and she dreams
